Joanna Lumley appointed patron of Kids for Kids

02 07 2014

British actress Dame Joanna Lumley has been announced as patron of Kids for Kids, which aims to transform the lives of children in remote villages in Darfur, Sudan through a number of grassroots projects.

The charity's Goat Loan initiative involves lending six goats to families to provide milk every day; the families will bring up the goat's offspring, which are then passed on to other families. Lumley commented 'Goats are the miracle animals of Africa. Their milk will save a child from starvation, and this is what Kids for Kids does best! They lend goats; and save children's lives'.
